2016 NCAIR Conference – Wilmington, NC

 

LOCATION

The 2016 NCAIR annual conference will be held at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside in Wilmington, NC, March 14-16, 2016.  The hotel is situated directly on the Cape Fear River, overlooking the Battleship North Carolina and is an easy walk to numerous restaurants, stores and attractions on the river and in the historic downtown district.  The site is less than 20 minutes from Wrightsville Beach.

REGISTRATION

Early-bird registration is $160 through February 14th, and $200 afterwards.  The conference registration fee includes NCAIR annual membership dues.  Register for the conference online using this link:  [Conference Registration].  Payment options include credit card or check.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Please note:  The room block at the conference hotel, the Hilton Wilmington Riverside, is full.  There may still be rooms available at their published rates.  A small room block is available at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Coastline Inn with a discounted rate of $129 per night for Monday, March 14 and Tuesday, March 15.  To book a room at the discounted rate, call 910-763-2800 and indicate you are with NCAIR.  The discounted room block expires March 1, 2016.

TRAVEL GRANTS

Dr. Michael Rappa

The conference opens with a Welcome Reception at 5pm Monday, March 14th followed by the Keynote dinner address given by Dr. Michael Rappa, professor and founding director of the Institute for Advanced Analytics, and a member of the faculty in the Department of Computer Science at North Carolina State University.

Dr. Rappa has over 25 years of experience working across academic disciplines at the nexus between management and computing. An accomplished researcher and instructor, his passion is to bring an entrepreneurial and forward-thinking mindset to innovation in higher learning. His current role is to prepare a new generation of data savvy professionals for leadership in a digital world.

PRE-CONFERENCE SESSIONS

Monday, March 14 pre-conference offerings include a full-day intermediate level IPEDS training workshop, Best Practices for Reporting and Using IPEDS Data to Improve Office Efficiencies.  Click here [IPEDS] for additional information and registration.

Two half-day workshops are also offered:  Introduction to Statistics for University Business Reporting and Introduction to Essential Microsoft Excel Functions for University Business Personnel.  Additional information and registration is available here.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Conference participants are invited to submit proposals for concurrent session presentations and discussion groups.  Sessions of both 45 minutes and 75 minutes in length are available.  Subject areas include Planning and Organizing, Research, Technology and Training, Assessment and Effectiveness, and Current Issues in Higher Education.  We encourage proposals aligned with the conference theme, Partnerships for Problem Solving.  The best conference session (as determined by the Conference Planning Committee) is invited to present at the 2016 AIR Forum with travel support from NCAIR.  Submit your proposal online using this link:  [Submit Proposal Here].
